our REFLECTIONS

25th Sunday of the Year

The children of this world are more astute in dealing with their own kind
than are the children of light.

One of the best commentaries  on this Gospel comes from our little Thérèse:

“A child of light, I understood that my desires of being everything,
of embracing all vocations were the riches that would render me unjust…
I know only one thing – to love – not allowing one little sacrifice to escape,
not one look, not one word, profiting by all the smallest things
and doing them through love.”
“In the evening of this life, I shall appear before You with empty hands,
for I do not ask You, Lord, to count my works.
All our justice is stained in Your eyes.
I wish, then, to be clothed in Your own Justice
and to receive from Your Love the eternal possession of Yourself.”

And our teacher St. John of the Cross:

“One act of pure love is of more value to the whole world than all other acts put together.”
(St.John of the Cross)
